About Bachelor Hub

An independent, English-language guide to starting your BSc at EPITA Paris.

Who is behind this

Bachelor Hub is a volunteer project run by a student, for students. It started because most first-month questions are about paperwork (visa, CVEC, health insurance, transport) and the answers were scattered across slides and emails.

This site is unofficial

Unofficial student guide — not affiliated with EPITA. Always check official sources.

The site is not run, endorsed or checked by the school. Guides are based on official presentations and public sources, and each one shows its source and the date it was last verified. Rules and dates change: when something here differs from an official source, the official source wins. Please use the "Report outdated info" button on any guide to tell us.

For binding answers write to the right office. The Who to write to page tells you which one, and how to phrase the email.

In short: reading the site collects nothing about you. We only process data you choose to send through a form, we keep it for as short a time as we can, we use no analytics, trackers or cookies, and you can have it deleted at any time.

What we collect, and why

WhenWhatWhyHow long
You ask a question First and last name, email, year, topic, your question, and the page you came from. To answer you. A person reads every question. Up to 6 months after it is answered, then deleted. An anonymised version (no name, no email) may be kept as a FAQ entry if the answer helps others.
You propose an event or a club Your email and the event or club details. To confirm that you own an @epita.fr address, to moderate, and to publish the event or club. The details you write (not your email) are published. Unconfirmed submissions are deleted after 48 hours. Published items stay until they are removed or you ask us to delete them.
You report outdated info The page, your message, an optional source link and an optional email. To correct the site (and reply, if you gave an email). Up to 6 months, then deleted.
You use any form A technical fingerprint of your IP address, stored only in hashed form. Spam protection and rate limiting (at most 5 submissions per hour per network and 3 per day per email). Up to 24 hours.

Where you give an email address we rely on your consent (the tick box on the form). You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your data, see below. Spam protection is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the service usable.

Who processes it, and where

  • Website: static pages served by Cloudflare Pages. Reading pages does not send us any personal data.
  • Forms (API and database): hosted in the EU (server in Frankfurt, database in an EU region).
  • AI drafting: to prepare a suggested reply, the text of your question, with your year and topic but without your name or email, is processed by Anthropic (United States), the provider of the Claude AI model. A person always reads and decides before anything is sent to you. Nothing is published or sent automatically.
  • Email delivery: confirmation links and replies are sent through an email delivery service (Resend).
  • Moderation: moderators receive your submission in a private messaging channel (Telegram) or on a private admin page.
  • Spam check: forms load Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that you are a person. It runs under Cloudflare's own privacy policy and loads only on pages that contain a form.

Some of these providers are based outside the EU. We choose EU regions where they exist and send as little as possible.

No analytics, no trackers, no cookies

We use no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and this site sets no cookies for visitors. (Moderators who sign in on the separate admin page receive a sign-in cookie; students never do.)

Your browser's local storage is used only for conveniences you can see: your checklist ticks, an unsent form draft (kept up to 7 days), the "Remember me on this device" details if you tick that box, and the proof that you confirmed your @epita.fr email (kept 90 days). This data never leaves your device unless you submit a form. You can clear it from your browser settings or by ticking "Remember me" off.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw your consent at any time. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

How to delete your data

Use the Delete my data page: enter your email, click the link we send you, and everything linked to that address (questions, reports, proposals) is deleted. Events and clubs created from them are removed from the site on the next update.
